Irish Rose Consulting
July 1989 to present: Software Engineer
As founding partner of Irish Rose Consulting, responsible for all aspects of business, including client consultation, all phases of software development, client training, software maintenance. Major projects include the following:

· Infrastructure Management Services, Inc. (IMS)
For a period of 6 months, provided all programming and client support services for IMS. Duties were similar to former duties as Senior Software Engineer, listed below. Developed Windows-based software for clients across North America. Software developed using Borland C, Microsoft Visual Foxpro.

· Wonderlic Personnel Tests, Inc.
Developed support software for an interactive touch-tone telephone job interview system. Software allows users to record lists of interview questions and enter interview information. Callers to the system respond to questions using touch-tone telephones or by recording voice answer. Software then allows Wonderlic personnel to transcribe answers and produce interviewee databases which are then electronically transferred or faxed to clients. Sofwtare developed using Microsoft Foxpro and Visual Basic.

· Decimal Systems
Developed support software for interactive voice-response systems such as automated credit collection dialers and long-distance phone-card providers. Most software developed using Microsoft Foxpro and Borland C.

· Sports Buff Network
Developed a real time order processing system for nationwide fantasy sports leagues. The system processes entries from a telemarketing firm, a computer operated interactive voice response system and an internet web page. This system was developed in Microsoft Foxpro 2.6 for DOS and Windows.

· Mindware Systems Associates, Inc.
Mindware develops custom Windows based multimedia computer based training (CBT) presentations using many authoring packages. Irish Rose developed Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL) that provide capabilities not present in each multimedia-authoring package. Some functions developed are screen and window capture and printing, DDE communications, and data sharing.

Wisconsin Career Information System (WCIS) - University of Wisconsin - Madison, WI
October 1994 to October 1995: Associate Information Processing Consultant
Responsibilities included design, programming and maintenance of both commercial and in-house database management systems. Major projects included a multimedia curriculum development package, a conference management system, and data entry programs to support these systems. Programming done mainly in Foxpro for Windows.

Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) - Arlington Heights, IL
January 1992 to October 1994: Senior Software Engineer
August 1990 to January 1992: Software Engineer
As Software Engineer, responsibilities included the following: design, programming and maintenance of a data-analysis and forecasting package used for decision support in pavement management; computer support for a staff of approximately 30 people; design, setup and administration of an office-wide Novell LAN, including dial-up access for traveling sales managers; PC maintenance; meeting with clients to design custom software; research and development projects including use of global positioning systems, PC-based geographic information systems. Appointed to newly created position of Senior Software Engineer in January 1992. This position added the following responsibilities: supervision of four other software engineers; hiring and training new software engineers as the department expands; scheduling projects; reporting to upper management on project status. Programming done mainly in C/C++ and FoxPro.

Niall Enterprises, Inc. - Belmont, WI
April 1989 to present: Software Engineer/Consultant
Duties include developing software for an aircraft traffic awareness system, and demonstrating this system to various people. Also responsible for creation of publicity software and documentation, as well as some hardware interface construction. The project involves interfacing an IBM personal computer with a LORAN navigation system, and with a satellite communications device. Programming done mainly in C and Visual Basic. Since grant funding in 1996, also responsible for working with subcontractors on system design and development.

  • "Pub Darts" - Darts game software for the IBM-PC. Written in C++ by Dennis Deery and Steve Cooper. Published by American Software Labs in Chandler, Arizona for retail distribution throughout the U.S.
  • "Airborne Traffic Awareness Display and Cockpit Information System - Final Report of SBIR Phase I" - Authored by Jack O’Neill, Dennis Deery, et. al. for the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Department of Transportation.

Education

  • University of Wisconsin-Platteville: Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Electronics Technology. Graduated July 1990.
